NORTHFIELD, VERMONT

Our company's name is Mad River Valley Real Estate. And that’s because our real estate company was born here. It’s also because we do a great deal of business within the Mad River Valley watershed.

Consider Northfield

But we are no strangers to adjoining communities. And the town of Northfield is at the top of that list. In fact, over the years and to this day we have completed a great many sales in Northfield. As a result, are very knowledgable about and quite comfortable offering advice and doing business “over the mountain”.

Real Estate Value

When it comes to real estate value, your dollar goes considerably further in Northfield than in the Mad River Valley or the greater Montpelier and Waterbury communities. Northfield offers a great location with easy access to skiing, Interstate 89 and all of the great things Central Vermont has to offer.

Norwich University

Northfield is well known for Norwich University, offering a range of educational oppertunities for both cadets and civilians. Norwich is like an anchor store in a shopping mall in providing a stable workforce and with a proud 200+ year history of educating and preparing its students for military and civilian service.

You should check out Norwich University’s impressive accomplishments in division 3 sports like hockey, basketball and lacrosse. While you are there visit the Shaw Outdoor Center, a hub for biking, hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country/backcountry skiing.

Northfield Has More To Offer

But there is so much more to like about life in Northfield! The Dog River runs through the heart of town and is often described as one of the finest fly-fishing destinations in the north country. Additionally, Northfield sure knows how to throw a party as evidenced by the annual Labor Day parade.

Downtown Northfield offers a quintessential small-town experience. And nowhere is it more evident than a visit to Depot Square. There are hardware stores, a pharmacy, several restaurants, and gift and flower shops. There’s even a a good ole fashioned barbershop. Not to be missed is the great brewery and coffee shop side by each (Good Measure Pub & Brewery, and Carrier Coffee). And don’t forget to check out the farmers market on Tuesday afternoons from May to October.

Vermont Covered Bridges

And of course no visit to Vermont is complete without a walk or drive through a traditional wooden covered bridge. In Northfield there are not one or two, but six! Northfield is also home to the widely popular community oriented Northfield Savings Bank, our favorite local bank.
